Parsonage Surgery require a Salaried Sessional GP for 5 to 6 sessions per week Monday to Friday. 

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, committed salaried sessional GP to join our dedicated practice team. We are a growing family orientated training practice with a current list size of over 7500 patients, based within Herts & Essex Community Hospital in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire.

We pride ourselves on delivering professional medical care in a friendly environment while striving to meet all the challenges of modern General Practice.  

The successful candidate will be supported by two GP Partners, Nurse Prescriber, Practice Nurse, HealthCare Assistant along with our Practice Manager, Reception Manager, Operations Manager, Secretarial & Administration teams.

Please be aware that training dates / times will differ from the post hours to ensure the management team can offer relevant training within induction period. Training will take place Monday to Friday between 8am & 8pm dependant on trainer availability.

38 hours per week:  

Tuesday 8am – 8pm with a 1 hour break 

Wednesday – 10am – 6:30pm with a half hour break 

Thursday - 8am - 6:30pm with 1 hour break

Friday 8am – 6:30pm with a 1 hour break


We are looking for an experienced & enthusiastic receptionist/administrator to join our small & friendly team.  Previous experience within a busy GP Practice is preferred, along with good working knowledge of the SystmOne clinical system.

We have a growing list size of currently 7500 patients & our dedicated staff have built an excellent reputation in meeting our patients needs.

The ideal candidate must be quick learner, possess excellent communication & organisational skills, have a polite telephone manner along with the ability to deal with sensitive / confidential issues appropriately - remaining calm under pressure, & be a team player.

The role is varied & includes:

· Booking appointments

· Answering calls

· Taking messages

· Printing prescriptions

· Scanning / opening post

· Dealing with general queries

· Registering new patients

· Filing

· Admin duties as required

· Opening & Closing premises in line with shift pattern

Candidate must be able to work as part of a team, and be capable of working in a fast paced and at times stressful environment.

You will be expected to cover additional hours re staff holidays & sickness – sometimes at short notice.

Attendance at staff meetings / training is expected & may at times be in addition to your contracted hours.

NHS & SystmOne experience preferred. In-house training will be provided.

5.6 weeks leave pro rata inclusive of bank holidays & free onsite parking
