Blood tests can now be booked online at - https://www.pah.nhs.uk/our-services/service/blood-tests-30/
We have launched an online blood test appointment system to improve patient experience.
Appointments for blood tests should be made online, rather than by email or telephone. The appointments system ensures that we can maximise the number of tests we can offer to patients and continue to maintain social distancing in waiting areas.
Appointments will be held at our outpatient departments at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, St Margarets Hospital in Epping, and Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop's Stortford. You should also use the online system to make appointments at Waltham Abbey Health Centre and Ongar Health Centre.
The new booking system named Swiftqueue - is designed to be easy to access and to manage your appointment. When accessing the Swiftqueue system, you will be guided to create an account and follow the on-screen instructions to arrange your appointment.
Minimal information is required in order to set up your account and make an appointment. You will be asked to provide an email address (this does not need to be your own, it could be a friend, relative or Carer who is assisting you, for example), your name and date of birth.
If you arrive without a pre-booked appointment, you will be allocated the next available slot on arrival. This could be later in the day or a different day during busy times, so all appointments should be pre-booked online in advance.
Coronavirus test results:
If you have been tested for coronavirus (COVID-19) the hospital will contact you directly with your result when it is available – Please DO NOT call the surgery.
Test results requested via GP:
Please Note: It is the Patient's responsibility to phone the surgery for results.
The reception team can give out test results between 10.00 and 18.00
The reception team will pass the doctors comment regarding your results to you if you phone in at this time. They can only give you a result once the doctor has viewed the result & commented on it.
We have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and our receptionists will only discuss test results with the person to whom they relate. We cannot discuss your results with anyone else unless you have given prior permission for the release of this data which we will record. In this instance please complete a 'Third Party Consent Form'
