Focus on Chlamydia

Chlamydia is the most commonly diagnosed sexually transmitted infection among the under 25's. Chlamydia is know as the silent infection because for many people it shows no symptoms and is easily passed from one person to another through unprotected sex.

Untreated chlamydia can have series long term health effects and may lead to infertility. If you are under 25 and sexually active you should get tested. You can come into the surgery and pick up a pack or book an appointment with the nurse. You will not need to disclose the nature of the appointment. If asked by reception for the nature of the appointment just state that it is personal and you will be granted the next available appointment.

This is a national campaign and this surgery is keen to support our patients and offer this service. The test is easy and painless, the treatment is antibiotics, you do not need to be seen by a doctor, please let us help you. Please do not be offended if you are offered this test as it will be routinely offered to all those under 25.

Our Nurse will be happy to see you & discuss how to take a test.
